2005 Motion Pictures: Recalling The Year In Films
The year 2005 wasn’t a really strong year for movie making generally speaking worldwide, and even less so for Hollywood, however, there have been a number of great moments on the big screen, of which some are shot in green screen background.
“The Best of Youth” by Marco Tullio Giordana was made in Italy and shown there as a tv miniseries. Now you can have the DVD on Amazon or Netflix and get all set to hunker down because every disc is over three hours long, however it is definitely worth the time to get to know one of the finest 2005 flicks ever made. It tells the storyline of 2 brothers who take different routes in life and the girls they love, all with the background of 60’s radicalism and rioting.
“King Kong” by Peter Jackson is actually a flawed, overly long work that’s still 1 of the most incredible flicks ever shot and all because of the characterization of the ape by the actor who portrayed him (of course there’s an actor, but absolutely no monkey suit). This particular remake of the 1933 black and white classic is wonderful after the 1st uninteresting hour. This 2005 features celebrities Jack Black and Naomi Watts.
“Batman Begins” was fantastic and stars Christian Bale. This movie will be dark but fiercely realistic. The Batman here is no superhero, simply a man on a quest. Really suspenseful which made this among the 2005 motion pictures that you cannot fail to remember. This was also the prequel if you know of 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.
“Sin City” with Mickey Rourke is among the most aesthetically stunning 2005 films with its bigger than life movie noir look and comic book stylizations.
“A History of Violence” directed by David Cronenberg and featuring Vigo Mortensen was bloody and aggresive, but in addition suspenseful and stuffed with shock twists.
“Wallace and Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” was the greatest of the 2005 flicks to showcase animation, and claymation at that. Although made for children, the laughter is perfect for grownups at the same time. Really amusing.
“Kung Fu Hustle” directed and featuring the funny and twisted Kwok Kuen Chan still positions as one of the funniest and strangest 2005 flicks and is also really worth leasing. This is the same director who brought us the really humorous “Shaolin Soccer”.
“War of the Worlds” starring Tom Cruise was famous for fantastic effects but goes on too long. The finish sequence is simply plain unexciting. The 1st hour though is fantastic and will certainly keep you on the side of your seat.
Mentioned are a few of the best 2005 flicks that may have used green screen and you will certainly have your favorite. Have the snacks all set, time for motion picture night!
